Gorseinon’s 2026/27 Admiral National League Division 1 West campaign got underway on Saturday with a tough trip to Swansea Uplands.

It wasn’t the start to the league season the boys had hoped for, as a competitive encounter eventually ended 17–0 in favour of the hosts.

Gorseinon showed plenty of determination throughout the afternoon and continued to work hard despite finding themselves under pressure. There were opportunities for the visitors to get themselves on the scoreboard, but unfortunately they weren’t able to turn those periods of possession and territory into points.

Uplands proved difficult to break down and were more clinical when their own opportunities arrived, building enough of an advantage to see the game out.

Although the result will be disappointing, there are positives to take from the first competitive outing of the new campaign and plenty to build on as the squad settles into the season.

The focus now turns to the weeks ahead, with the boys looking to respond at our first home game on 19th September and get their Division 1 West campaign moving in the right direction.
